Art & Cocktails | The Chromophilliacs at Richmond Art Gallery

Sip, Explore, and Celebrate Colour!
This winter, Richmond Art Gallery bursts with vibrant energy in The Chromophiliacs, a dynamic exhibition curated by Zoë Chan. Responding to David Batchelor’s concept of chromophobia—the historical fear and marginalization of colour—these artists flip the script, embracing colour in all its power, joy, and complexity.
From bold patterns and shimmering textures to works inspired by global craft traditions and cultural aesthetics, this exhibition celebrates colour as a force of creativity, identity, and cultural expression. Featuring artists Diyan Achjadi, Moozhan Ahmadzadegan, Maru Aponte, Sandeep Johal, Yaimel López Zaldívar, Laura Meza Orozco, Osvaldo Ramirez Castillo, Malina Sintnicolaas, Charlene Vickers, and Jan Wade, The Chromophiliacs invites you to experience colour in ways that are playful, immersive, and unforgettable.
Art & Cocktails brings this experience to life with all your senses. Guided by a curator, you’ll explore the exhibition and dive into the stories, techniques, and vibrant hues of each piece. Along the way, a creative bartendress will present three art-inspired cocktails, each designed in dialogue with the artworks, making each sip a playful, multi-sensory experience.
✨ Plus: Enjoy small bites perfectly paired to complement your journey through colour.
Whether you’re an art lover or just curious to try something new, this evening promises colour, connection, and creativity in every corner.
